Paper/concrete table II

/ Exchange in Kunsthochschule Kassel, Germany. I developed a mixture of recycled newspapers and cement that was strong enough to be used as a table top after mixing and letting it dry. By using paper as a part of the mixture, the weight of the concrete table top was reduced to half. No sand was added. As a mould I used an old plastic or wooden boxes. No oven was needed, the mixture could be left to dry in the room temperature. I placed recycled crochet lace table cloths first to the bottom of the mold before pouring the paper&cement mass over.  Legs for the wooden table I designed by using an old table from a second hand store. Black table legs are also second hand and repainted.
